On the 9th of January, 2020, Antoine Denis (66) was found dead inside his flat at Copperfield House, New Road, Chatham. A statement from Mr Denis's family said: "Not many people are aware that Antoine had a family who cared about him. He was a brother, uncle and also a father to four grown up children. We have been deeply affected by his death and we would ask anybody who knows anything about what happened to help."
Murder wasn't suspected until a knife was discovered in Antoine's back when they moved his body. He had died by a single stab wound.
In January 2010 it was reported that a 43-year-old man was being held on suspicion of murder at Medway police station. A 69-year-old man, also arrested on suspicion of murder, had been released on bail pending further inquiries.
A murder charge against a woman accused of stabbing Mr Denis was dropped in March following a joint decision made by Kent Police and the Crown Prosecution Service.
No one else has been charged with his murder.
