On Wednesday the 1st of April 1992, Jacqueline Palmer-Radford (40) was found dead by her son on the kitchen floor. Her son had returned from school alone after she had failed to collect him and discovered her body. The police determined she had been raped and strangled, however, she was fully clothed in a smart suit. There was also no sign of a struggle in the house - suggesting that Jacqueline may have known her killer and let them in.
Jacqueline had split from her husband a year and a half earlier, and she and her children lived in Eversley, Basingstoke. As often happens, the husband was an immediate suspect, but Aldershot Police were satisfied with his alibi and released him.
