On Sunday the 30th of October, 2022, Jacqueline Rutter (53) was murdered on the doorstep of her home in Moreton (Wirrell, Merseyside). The beloved Nan was shot in the chest in the early hours, and while no motive has been revealed, police say they believe the attack was targeted.
Police believe that the murder of Jacqui (as she was known) involved multiple people, and that a black Vauxhall Insignia was involved in the shooting. It was seen in the area between 12.45 am and 1.15 am around the time she was killed. The vehicle, which may have had up to 3 people inside, was later found burnt out on Garden Hey Road.
So far a number of people have been arrested and released including a 79-year-old man, who was known to Jacqui, and a 21-year-old man with no fixed abode. Four other men, aged 21, 25, 44, and 52, and a 23-year-old woman previously arrested in connection with the investigation all remain on conditional bail.
