Nigel Price: Unsolved Murder (2009)

On the 13th of November 2009, Nigel Price (58) was attacked in the car park at the Cowherds Pub. He was found in the park the next morning, partially clothed and in a bush. Nigel remained in a semi-coma at Southampton General Hospital until his death on the 23rd of March 2009.

Post-mortem tests confirmed that Nigel died of the delayed effects of the severe head injuries he suffered in the attack.

Two suspects were seen running towards the reservoir on the eastern side of the common just after 07:00 the day Nigel was discovered. They were described as white, one was in his early 30s, 6ft tall and of a slight but muscular build. He had short, light coloured hair. The other man was shorter, also in his early 30s, but with darker hair. Both men wore lightweight dark anoraks over dark jeans.

Police believe Nigel may have been involved in an altercation with someone at about 20:45 and was later seen by a couple in the park about 21:30. The police initially speculated that it may have been a homophobic attack, however, they have remained open to other possibilities.

Nigel's killers have never been caught.
